Q: What is the name of diagnostic kit which looks for the viruse itself?

A:  Electron microscope is the only test that detects the HIV virus itself but there
are other tests that detect the antigen of the virus. P24 captive antigen test (The
p24 antigen test detects the presence of the p24 protein of HIV (also known as CA),
a major core protein of the virus), PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and Nucleic
acid based tests (NAT)
