Ethiopia Launches HIV/AIDS Workplace Policy

Ethiopia recently launched a policy that provides a framework for addressing
HIV/AIDS in the workplace, the Daily Monitor/AllAfrica.com reports. According to the
Monitor/AllAfrica.com, the policy was developed during a three-year project, called
"HIV and AIDS Workplace Policy Project for NGOs in Ethiopia," which was hosted
by the Jerusalem Children and Community Development under the slogan Stop
AIDS Now!, or SAN!

    More than 169,000 people undergo VCT
Addis Ababa, June 28, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - More than 169,000 people in North
Shewa Zone of the Amhara State have undergone Voluntary Counseling and
Testing (VCT) during the past 10 months, Zonal HIV/ AIDS prevention and
controlling office said.
The stated number of people received the service at 27 health institutions and
mobile VCT centers, Amsalu Walelign, head of services with the office told ENA.
The test results show that 3,700 persons have the virus.
